Aus einem Halstuch einen fish machen
Inner- und zwischensprachliche Übersetzung in Hélène Cixous’ Hyperrêve
Pages 69 - 86
Hélène Cixous’ Hyperrêve (2006) presents a multilingual poetics of the untranslatable, exploring the possibilities of homonymy, homophony, synonymy and various rhetorical figures of doubling and repetition. The fictional ‘work of dreaming’ rereads a lecture of Derrida on a dream of Benjamin. It stages and reflects upon an omnipresent work, featuring the figure of the double on all levels and including the dimension of temporality. Inter- as well as intralinguistic translation is here an essential part of the ongoing process of lectécriture, of reading the self as other by continually revisiting and retranslating the inscriptions of the other. Through echo-effects, the voice of the narration is doubled in more than one language and more than one ghost-voice.
