„Vénus aujourd’hui met un bas d’azur / Et chez Marcelin conte des histoires“: Konturen einer Werkbibliographie von Nina de Villard aus zeitgenössischen Periodika

Frank Stückemann

Seiten 157 - 190

After the decoding of Nina de Villard’s pseudonym – cf. GRM 72.3 (2022) – the publications of “Émile Villars” in contemporary periodicals are now being investigated. From 1864 Nina used the editorial connections of her husband Hector de Caillas to place her texts in ‚Le Figaro‘, ‚Le Nain jaune‘, ‚Paris-Journal‘ and ‚L’Artiste‘. In addition, she established her own contacts with important magazines, daily newspapers and illustrated journals such as ‚La Presse‘, ‚Le Gaulois‘, ‚Le Moniteur universel‘, ‚Le Grand Journal‘ and ‚L’Esprit follet‘. Her style-defining collaboration on ‚La Vie parisienne‘ is outstanding in terms of both quantity and quality. The texts recorded here for the first time – poems, short prose, feuilletons, dramatic scenes, satires and monologues – form the basis of a hitherto unknown work of French modernism.
